Nick Piro, Founder

Meet our Founder, Nick Piro. Nick is a life-long entrepreneur and creative, pursuing ventures in music, photography, film, and website development.

In 2022, a year after the passing of his dog Mia, Nick found solace and inspiration in Philadelphia’s flourishing art community, and was motivated to build Mission in Arts into a community space for artists.

Mariah Couper, Co-Founder

Meet our Co-Founder Mariah Couper. Originally from North Jersey, Mariah has been living in Philadelphia for 14 years. She graduated from UArts in 2013, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, with a concentration in Sculpture. Mariah’s work focuses on design and composition through a breadth of disciplines including painting, drawing, and sewing.

Carson Bohlen, Clay Studio Manager

Carson Bohlen, our Clay Studio Manager! Carson joined the team to help bring to life Mission in Arts Clay—Our member clay studio space. Carson is a 2020 graduate of Tyler School of Art & Architecture with a BFA in Sculpture and a certified educator. As well as managing the clay studio, Carson teaches high school ceramics in Springfield, PA.
